======Qu-Yu Xiaowen====== =====Skyward Wanderer===== Widespread throughout Thyslann many have heard the tales of the Skyward Wanderer. It is said that after the end of the great war between the Northern and Southern halves of the Tharenan Empire, once the expeditions of the Labyrinth started coming to a close, a Dragonblooded Warrior from the Land of Endless Sky began to journey across the continents to see more of the world and bring peace and justice to all. This is one such tale: >Once upon a time in the far reaches of the Northern portion of the Tharenan Empire, there was a little village. This village resided on the lands of a great and terrible Duchess, who did not care much for his people. That summer, a drought prevented the villagers from growing very much food. Autumn came and the villagers realized they only had enough food for themselves, and very little to give as tribute to their duchess. > >It is during this autumn that a warrior from the Land of Endless Sky came to visit; the Skyward Wanderer. The Skyward Wanderer sat themself down at the local inn for a meal. The innkeeper told them that the village does not have much food to spare due to the drought, but she was happy to provide the Skyward Wanderer a small meal. The Skyward Wanderer thanked the innkeeper and introduced themself. > >They told tales of their travels so far to the innkeeper and everyone else who happened to be in the inn. People listened closely with awe to hear what the rest of Thyslann is like. > >As people listened to the stories, and drink and laughter were shared, some of the Duchess's guards came into the inn as well, to tell the innkeeper that the tribute to the Duchess was due. The innkeeper told the guards that there was not enough food to spare due to the drought, but the guards did not care and told the innkeeper that the Duchess would hear of this refusal to pay and that punishment would come. Once the guards had left, the Skyward Wanderer asked if there was anything they could do. The innkeeper said no, it was a hopeless cause. The village had no spare food to give the Duchess and most of the village's capable fighters had died or been injured in the war. But the Skyward Wanderer insisted they could help fight the guards and make sure the Duchess would not be willing to bother the village again until at least the next harvest. The innkeeper was skeptical of one person being able to accomplish such a feat, but decided to let the Skyward Wanderer help. > >The next day, a bigger group of guards arrived at the village square. The demanded the tribute be brought over or else there would be consequences. At this the Skyward Wanderer stepped forward and told the guards no this would not be happening. The guards laughed at them and surged forward with their weapons, but these guards were not as experienced fighters as the Skyward Wanderer. > >The Wanderer took out their bow and quickly shot down some of the guards before running forward with their sword drawn. The guards clearly had never fought someone so talented in the fighting styles from all over Thyslann. As they changed between techniques common in the Land of Endless Sky, Dolom, the Legion, both the Southern and Northern parts of the Tharenan Empire, and even Ezu, the Skyward Wanderer quickly overwhelmed all of the guards who were unable to predict what they would do next. Eventually, they all surrendered but warned the Duchess would not be happy and would surely only send more guards to punish the village. The Skyward Wanderer simply replied "No, your Duchess will do no such thing, because if he does I can promise Junior King Lucrece will hear of it and put a stop to it. I have already told her about this village's problems with the Duchess". > >And so the village was saved and able to survive the year of drought without fear of their Duchess taking what little food they had available. All because of the Skyward Wanderer, who stands up for all who need help and justice against those who would do them harm.
