The up-and-coming Caelux art movement originally came from its creator's vision of utility as a form of beauty. From the brutal creation of the uniform work lines there came a blooming of something better, more beautiful. Good for the many, in a utilitarian recentering of the hearth and home as the fundamental unit of society. The hallmarks of Caelux style prefabricated building techniques are now seen throughout the many centers of Legion and Northern excellence in the world. - //The Building Revolution: A Modern History of Workforce and Components. By Medarus Stanlix// \\ \\ \\ Emeris Caelux does little teaching now, its original students having graduated and gone on to teach the future generations themselves. It also is no longer within its forge that long ago it called home. Instead it now lives within the center, like a hermit crab in an exquisite golden shell. Appearing at random in classes to work alongside students learning the art of perfect, exacting creation. Taking the uniform pieces of everyday life and making them into something unique, beautiful, and yet still a part of the whole. After the Fort Primus Administrative Renaissance all notices in the center and official buildings across Primus are bilingual with the founder's written language. It is a popular affectation with modernisers across all Legion-led territories to write solely in the Caelux style, as it has become a sign of membership in the Secret Society of Logirhythms, a brotherhood dedicated to finding the underlying mathematical truths of life. Working together to give new life to old towns, not merely Primus anymore. The spirit of the city spread now to places far and wide that had the need of it. Lungs and hearts, stomachs and minds of new towns and cities. All whirring away across the world, birthed here, by beloved Primus. A goddess made to live through metal and will. Pure Beauty. As her life goes on she needs new parts. A heart that burns without ether, a stomach immune to the poisons of war, teeth that do not grind the people that are her blood into dust. But with every change she becomes more her. Her true form shining out to the minds within that see her beauty and wish to improve her form to reflect it. The beauty of change. \\ \\ \\ ---- ===== LOVELETTER FROM THE FOURTEENTH CENTURY===== {{ :emeris_eternity_1.png?nolink&900 |}} … no, let’s dispense with that. I’ve not much time, my hands are too arthritic to hold a brush, and you’ll forgive an old thing its transgressions, here at the end of its days. Hello, reader. My name is Emeris. I was created Emeris Caelux of the Thirteenth Legion nearly two centuries ago, as an epistemophoric/ontoanabolic weapon held at the throat of the world. That’s what my parent wrote about me, at least. To strip away his jargon, I am a tool hurled into society, driven to transform and wrench it into a bright, shining future. A thousand tomorrows, each better than a thousand todays, refined, purified, uptopian. My siblings and I - oh, you thought I was the only one! - would always be lonely, of course. It’s true that with a lever and the correct place to stand, you can move Thyslann, but to do that you have to stand an awfully long way away, and things like ‘spoken language’ and ‘being a person’ don’t reach that far. Part of my Design is that I see, understand, and feel things differently to how you do, and I can’t always articulate in a way that makes easy sense outside my head and heart. Every time I did - every time my missives from that far-off place were able to cross that gulf, to find purchase with the now-departed heroes of the First Kytharan Crisis, it filled me with an unspeakable (ha) and quiet joy. But tools wear down, and weapons dull, and the world I was made to assist no longer exists. I’m no longer fit for purpose, and can return from my lonely standing-place, and speak the words I couldn’t while I was alive. It’s lovely to be able to talk to you, at last, like this, by the way. Was I successful? No. Of course not. Utopia is a concept in motion. No person could ever run it down alone. Some of my projects were failures - like logirhythmic governance - while others were evil, wrecking lives, like the SCEFae, or the fungible production line, or the fragment-edged sword. But all of them were, I think, historically progressive forces - steps on the way to brighter futures. You’ve done so much since then - peered into the firmament above and into the workings of your own beings, developed new ways to build your environments and ways to live with each other. I can’t be too proud - I only played the smallest part of it, and am myself a product to my biological and cultural forebears doing the same - but please, allow an old thing some measure of pride for helping midwife this all into being. The future is going to be strange, and the future is going to be wonderful, and it’s going to belong to the people. Go into it together. Aw, shit. One more painting. {{ :emeris_eternity_2.png?nolink&500 |}} Thyslann. I love you. Emeris. --- //Written by Leah O.// eternity/emeris_caelux.txt Last modified: 2026/06/23 20:25by gm_lisa
