Physrep is the term we use to describe costumes for your character, as you are physically representing them.
Physrep is an entirely optional part of the game. Some people will make elaborate costumes and some people will not wear any costume. All of this and anything falling between is totally okay. We provide you with these ideas for people who would like to try physrep but do not know where to start, and for people who would like suggestions to build their own ideas on top of.
For ideas on the clothing in different states, please check out their individual pages which have information on the typical clothing styles in that state. You can find an overview of the different over-world states here, and an overview of the different Labyrinth factions here.
Dragonblooded have horns, some scales, and a tail. You can represent the horns with cut out paper or cardboard attached to a headband, or you could even use two party hats to be horns. You can also use makeup or face-paint to draw scales on your face in the areas your character has them. You can tie a scarf to the back of your pants to be a tail.
As Gentens may have idiosyncratic preferences about their clothing, or may not care about their appearance at all, shabby or oddly matched clothing may be suitable. To represent their physical traits, you could use shin or wrist guards to imitate shell segments.
The most distinguishing feature of any Muella is the presence of a mushroom cap. A big hat is an easy way to represent this as physrep.
Slimefolk come in a variety of colours and shapes, so face paint or makeup may be helpful. An easy way to represent being a slime is wearing clothes of all one color for a base layer. If you want to, you can wear a morph suit. You could use ping pong balls (or similar) with spirals drawn on to represent Eyestones, or use face paint or makeup to draw one on your head.
Note that inter-species fusions look more like the other species, so follow the advice in the section for those species (coating of slime not required, for the sake of the floors).
Ssar are lizard-like with snouts and scales. This could be represented with make-up or a mask. They have different and varied scale colouration and this could also be represented with face- and body-paint. Tails can be represented in the same way as Dragonblooded though Ssar tails are typically smaller and shorter.
Wildborn are distinguished as a mix of humanoid and animal characteristics, but the mix varies from individual to individual. You could use costume elements for the relevant animal: ears, tail, coloured contact lenses, small patches of fake fur or feathers, etc. You could use face paint, but this may be undesirable for characters who have fewer animal features.
In general, the setting is broadly late antiquity/early medieval fantasy, so any costumes fitting that aesthetic would work as well. Additionally, it may be useful to consider your character's social status when making a costume.
