Emeris Caelux is a Genten of the Thirteenth Legion. Asked who it is - what it’s for, what it’s doing to serve the Legion, what its hopes and dreams are - it will lay down its tools, and pick up a stick of charcoal, placing it in your hands, then folding its own hands around yours. It begins by drawing a tiny, cramped spiral - the claustrophobic whorl of a Genten shell, the fastidious self-reinforcing cycles of the Legion - before letting loose, spiralling outwards in accelerating gyres of exponential growth and industry-that-builds-industry. Through delicate shading and bold line, it describes a dynamic future, trembling with life and the wonder of the avant-garde. And within that, Emeris itself - not so much a person as a purpose, an exquisitely honed growth coefficient to catalyse the beauty and progress through metallurgical and alchemical artwork. Its ocelli glitter greedily. There is so much more to do.
